Andy Venues

What Egypt Mill Hotel say about their wedding venue:

You simply won’t find a more perfect choice then the beautifully converted 16th Century Egypt Mill for your very special occasion.  With its riverside setting and private lawn the Mill can’t fail to impress and provide the dream venue to celebrate with your guests.

Whether your requirements are for an intimate gathering of close family and friends or a larger reception we can look after up to 100 of your guests seated and 150 for the evening celebrations. We offer a full civil wedding service with 3 Egypt Mill civil ceremony licensed locations within the hotel.

Our celebration rooms are full of character with exposed beams, and memories of the days gone by, when the building was a working mill.  Downstairs in our restaurant with its flagstone floor and quirky objects d’art are two original water wheels, one of which is in working order.  Our delightful water gardens and private lawn make the outdoors the ideal location for your welcome drinks and photographs. The private lawn is also available exclusively for wedding or civil partnerships held with us.

What I think of Egypt Mill Hotel as a wedding venue:
Back in the day, Egypt Mill was a prosperous cloth mill which then became a dyeworks and eventually transformed into a corn mill. Today it is a popular restaurant and hotel with an idyllic waterside terrace and accommodation located in the Cotswolds.

With such a beautiful location, I was spoilt for choice on where to being taking photos, not only do they have a nice quiet garden area with unique sculptures and structures. They also have a wonderful patio area located on the waterfront. The patio area is shared with the general public that are visiting the area, but when timed right it does make a good photo spot.

The room used for the ceremony can only be described as personal and cosy, the roof itself is very low which made me have to duck quite a few times, even my camera knocked the ceiling a few times when taking the shots, is this a problem? No way! The ceiling is designed with the old wooden beams  which adds to the character of the whole Mill.

The members of staff were always on hand for the wedding guests and bride & groom, and also went out of their way to make some photo opportunities happen in areas which may otherwise have proven difficult, so to them I thank dearly for your assistance.

One thing can be certain, I am looking forward to my next chance to shoot at this gorgeous venue.
