What Priory Hall say about their wedding venue:

At Priory Hall, we provide the wow factor.. you bring your dreams.  You know best what you want and we do our best to make that happen.   You design your own day, no package deals, no keep off the grass signs.

We won’t bombard you with rules and regulations and we won’t sneak in with hidden costs.  What we will do is give you the structure for you to make your own providing top quality facilities in a stunning country house setting.  You can get an idea of what we offer by taking a virtual tour of Priory Hall.

Priory Hall is in the ancient market town of Hadleigh in Suffolk, on the edge of Constable country between Ipswich and Colchester. It is very well placed for Essex, Norfolk and Cambridgeshire and easily accessible from London

Just 70 miles from London, it’s a 50-minute train journey from Liverpool Street to Colchester or an easy drive.  The ports of Felixstowe and Harwich are a short drive away and Stansted Airport takes about 50 minutes by car.

Hadleigh lies close to the A12, which connects to London and the M25, and to the A14 which goes westward to Cambridge and the M11. It is accessible but protected from the main tourist routes. There is overnight car parking on site.

The area is well served by hotels and guest houses, ranging from the traditional motels to thatched, picture-book bed and breakfast. Many are a short walk or short drive from Priory Hall though there is no accommodation at Priory Hall.  All suppliers, including accommodation, are listed in the members’ area of this website which we’re happy to give you access to on request so you can work out budgets before committing to a venue.

And you can helicopter in if you wish as there is a landing spot and we have done it but it plays havoc with the hairdo!

What I think of Priory Hall as a wedding venue:

Priory Hall really does bring the wow factor, with the first look of the building you will notice how elegant it is with the black and white timber frames. Straight away I knew this was going to be a great venue. As you walk inside you will be directed towards the Great hall. This is where the ceremony usually takes place and is big enough to fit up to 100 guests. The hall is well lit with the large windows and also has an overlooking balcony, giving you a bird’s eye view of the goings on below, although during the ceremony this are is closed off for the photographers use only.

When it comes to taking the group shots, Priory hall has it covered. Not only have they got a huge lawn with beautiful scenery showing from all directions, they also have two large lakes and a Koi pond with terrace. These are all fantastic for romantic and night time shots. Not only that, they also have landscape gardens and 12 acres of land! What more could you ask for? The Lawn is big enough for people to mingle with one another and have fun and games for the children, without worrying about either getting in the way.  Overlooking the field is some high ground filled with sheltered seating and deck chairs with tables.

There is a marquee for when it comes to the reception and the wedding breakfast. This is where the wow factor continues, the marquee is huge! The table plan can be customised to your preferences and you will have no trouble having the space for everyone and still have leg room. The marquee comes with its own private toilets just outside through a separate set of doors away from the main entrance as well as the caterers entry way.

During the time of the reception, staff will have been busy inside the main hall getting it ready for the evening entertainment. With the chairs placed around the outside of the room, it has allowed there to be space for the dance floor, with mood lighting in place, it really has the romantic setting. Just outside there will be an outdoor bar, staffed throughout the night with outdoor seating and heaters. Truly a great way to finish the night.

Overall when it comes to Priory Hall being a wedding venue, they have thought of everything and will cater to the couples requests to the best of their abilities. It can be safe to say that no one will be disappointed with this venue.
